Natural Duo Helix Parrot Toy

Our cockatiels love this! They use it as a perch, tear off the cardboard strips, and forage in it when we hide millet and sunflower seeds inside. It’s a multi-use toy and we’ll definitely be replacing it with another one when they’ve finally destroyed it (as happy birds would and should).

My African grey was scared to death of this toy at first. For six weeks, she would not go near it. I bought a bell and attached it to the toy...now, she is playing with it. I think she will be amused by it for a long time.

This toy was well made, and attracted the attention of my 27 year old Senegal Parrot.However, it is larger than she is, and she is more interested in mingling with humansthan with this toy. Though she has nibbled on it occasionally, she prefers the bindings onmy hard-covered books! Also, newspapers. Perhaps she's channeling Dr. Irene Pepperberg's ...Alex,the extremely intelligent African Grey who died a couple of years ago!!

My cockatiel likes this toy at the first sight. He spends more time on this toy than any other toys in his cage that we switch around every few weeks. He would at times hop and perch on it, nibbling at it, which I guess because he likes the material of this toy - though I'm not sure what it's really made of, not plastic or paper, but it's a safe ones - the bird does not actually swallow any of it, he just bites a tiny piece or snatch one whole straw and then drops it after nibbling on it. It's been a month since we bought it now, and the toy is left with a few straws still attached. These straws are pinned together with a metal stick, hung with sisals and topped with five little plastic beads - I don't think my cockatiel would be able to bite away those beads though.This toy is fairly priced, but it won't stay around for very long time since my bird is a toy-destroyer. The good thing is, he plays with it and thus prevents him from boredom and/or screaming during the day.

We have three cockatiels - each with their own particular toy preferences - but they all love this toy. Many toys seems to have elements that can't be enjoyed by the birds - but this toy is reduced to nothing in a matter of weeks - they have a lot of fun working it over. Well made and a good buy for the cost.

this toy is huge! My conure did not like it at first but has enjoyed ripping the pieces off and batting it around over time.. The toy was bigger than the conure! Good value for price. He has a large cage but if your bird does not have lots of room avoid this toy. Also, IMHO not so great for smaller birds,

I should have read the product description better. I didn't realize this was for a cockatiel and not a parakeet. This was way to large for my keets cage. However, I was able to cut it and bend the main rod and make several smaller toys for my birds.

My cockatiels love shredding paper and cardboard toys and they have had many toys that look just like this but smaller. They have nibbled on the tips in the few past weeks but they have not devoured it like they normally do, I think the reason is because it is a little big for them. The size is about double what I expected, which is great for the price, but I may end up cutting this into two toys.High quality, good price, well represented.

I got this for my 3 conures. They share a large playstand when they are out of their cage and they absolutely enjoyed themselves. It lasted about 2 weeks before it was complete destroyed. Usually it takes them a while to warm up to new toys but not this one. Within minutes they were picking away and swinging off of it. Very glad have ordered more.

I bought this for my zebra finch and she's scared to death of it. The toy itself is nice quality. People always ask if the toy is made up of a bunch of Chinese finger traps lol

I am in an awkward spot. I really want to review this product but my cockatiels refused to go near it. It was the elephant in the room, to be obviously ignored and moved about without appearing to notice it. After leaving it out, I hung it in their play ground, and they then totally ignored their favorite play areas in order to avoid it while never appearing to actually see it.These are really big. I think the size scared my birds. I believe if they ever grew accustomed to the size, they would have loved destroying it.These are large enough for a bird to sit on each side while demolishing the cardboard. I think a bird would have a wonderful time shredding it.I would remove the plastic/rubber rings from the sides and bottom as a safety factor. Plastic can kill birds. I would not want my birds to swallow any pieces. If the company hung thin pieces of wood there, they could be broken up.I took down the one I hung up and put it well to the side. My birds have returned to the playground but now they ignore the soft gloves somewhat near where I placed the toy; they used to love snuggling in the gloves.I know that my cockatiels will never accept this toy. I am trying to decide how I can break it down into smaller pieces they can enjoy shredding. They absolutely love destroying cardboard which is why I purchased this toy.In spite of my experience, I believe the majority of birds would thoroughly enjoy destroying this cardboard toy. It appears strong enough for them to stand on while demolishing everything. I regret mine are missing out on the fun. My only concern is the plastic rings hung at three places on the toy.

This is probably my second or third time purchasing this toy for my African Gray. He simply loves this toy - I would recommend this toy and I know I will be purchasing more. The product is exactly what is shown and I stand behind all Bonka Toys I have received - good quality.

Toy is larger then expected, good thing. Well made. A great toy for all size birds to shread, chew, etc...Mine on other hand won't touch...as with most items. Give it a try if your birds enjoy these toys. Constructed very well.

I have a cockatiel, at first he didn’t seem interested in the toy or maybe he was a bit scared but after a while having it in his cage he seemed to love the toy! Perfect toy to shred apart. You can even put food in it. good for foraging.

My green cheek loves this toy. I recommend putting treats in them so you can make it a good foraging toy.

My daughter‘s bird loves this and he in his cage, we have it on the side and he loves to hang off of it. He used it so much we had to replace it, it’s a must have.

So the toy was a bit bigger then expected but it’s pretty great for birds my cockatiel is able to play with it it’s just to hard for her to break it my conure on the other hand is great with it
