Prevue Pagoda Cockatiel Bird Cage

Would have much preferred stronger, side-swinging doors. Can't get in the cage well to clean and hang items. Tray and grate are easy to clean though.

This is an excellent cage!I have read many reviews that Prevue makes good quality cages, but I have to say this cage is really nicely made. No scratches or uneven railing. Everything came in perfect condition in its boxing. The packaging and wrapping was neat and protective. Shipping was extremely quick with prime. I received my cage in two days. I really have no complaint.Personal opinion:1. Ascetically speaking, the cage is refined. There was NO chipped paint (and they even included paint and brush for accidents!). The pagoda styled metal spheres make it look very elegant and different from other indoor cages I've had.I feel that this cage was aimed for indoor purposes; however, I often leave my bird's cage in my courtyard. There has been no instances of rust yet. I feel this cage can absolutely be outside for any mild weather condition.2. Structurally, the cage is easy to assemble, clean and innovative.- I love that the tray on the bottom can easily be taken off and sealed by a metal guard (so it wont slip out).-The doors are impressive and original. One must press the metal clamps together to open the cage's doors, which heavily protect smart birdys' from biting or figuring their way out.3. Wheels do not have to be inserted into the bottom of the cage's pegs.-There are options: either add the wheels, or do not add the wheels (there is a plastic cover on the pegs that will not damage or scrape the floor)-I have hardwood and the wheels are smooth and slick. There has been no damage done to my hardwood or limestone flooring.-I can easily roll the cage from one room to another.I've built many cages and this cage is at an intermediate level to build but its doable, if you follow the directions, and with a little logic and tactic you can assemble it in a hour.My conure loves his new cage and assimilated quickly in it!

We bought this cage for our pineapple conure and she absolutely loves it! We had had her in a smaller, but still roomy cage and she seemed happy, but when we put her in this bad boy her mood suddenly changed. She was excited and visibly happier. We've positioned the perches in a way that she can actually fly a little from one perch to another. She also uses the extra room to stretch her wings in her weekly wing flapping exercises. The construction is well built. The cage rolls easily despite it's weight and the color is just as pictured. The package came with a small bottle of paint for touchups to the metal. The only negative we've found is that the paint around the areas where the cage is used most (such as the food bowl latches) started missing paint right away. It's not a deal breaker and not really noticeable. One other thing is that the bars are not all vertical. The sides are horizontal. This makes for a pretty design but it makes adding things to the cage require a little more thought than usual.

Phew, finally assembled it and our parakeet loves it, he danced for good 5 minutes as soon as I put him in. Our old cage was too small and the birdie started picking on his feathers, so I decided to switch to “humongous” cage. After a month of research, I couldn’t see any better choice than this. It arrived in acceptable condition, though I had to put some wires into holes on assembled pieces which was very hard, but the rest went somewhat easy to assemble even though took a little longer than I expected (overall 2 hours). It’s a beautiful cage and we are very happy with it and the price considering that they sell them on Petco twice more expensive. Love it!

Good quality. Except for one missed weld on the frame, not really a big deal, everything was top notch. Lots of space, more than our three cockatiels seem to need. Assembly was no problem. Yes, an extra pair of hands is helpful, but it took no time at all. Would recommend.

We love the look of the cage. The bird likes all the room. Dual openings in the front helps get into the top or bottom. Steardy unit and would buy it again. I have assembled several bird cages and none of them come with the best directions. A lot of it is common sense. I normally don’t tighten anything until I’m sure I haven’t put a panel in backwards. This one was fairly easy and we had it out together fairly quick.

Took two people an hour to put together

There were a great many parts and the cage had to be fully assembled which was done by a young man in the neighborhood. It took 2.5 hours. The directions were clear and included pictures. The cage is strong and beautiful. The wheels are casters and move the cage easily. I haven't put my cockatiel in as yet--I'm sure having all that room will surprise him! I will keep you updated. The manufacturer also sent a small bottle of white paint and a brush in case the coating might chip.

My sun conure seems to like this cage very much. I would have given it 5 stars if I hadn't such a hard time putting it together. The different panels didn't line up well or fit easily. It required a bit of banging and tapping. The instructions were poorly written, and printed in tiny fonts and small graphics. Also, the perches provided are made for birds much larger than cockatiels. Well, for the price of $217, this cage was still a good purchase.

My boys put it together quickly and my Conure and Cockatiel love it. It gives a good amount of space, but doesn't take up the living room.

Love this cage!!! Easy to put together

LOVE this cage, it is a great size for my little Green Cheek Conure. There is tons of extra room and it seems like it is pretty well made. We have had ours a few months now and it looks and hold up really well so far.

I love this cage. It arrived on the estimated date and was easy to together.The birds love it and I am considering purchasing another.

I absolutely love this cage. It looks much nicer than I expected. Very classy and was easy to assemble. Did it by myself. I would purchase this again.

The first one I received had to be returned b/c it was damaged. It appeared that it had likely returned by another customer after trying to improperly assemble it as the zip ties securing it had been cut and the packaging torn and some parts missing. However the 2nd one I received is great. Sturdy and spacious. The top curved parts are difficult to assemble and I feel like the top two crossbars really need an additional hole on each end to receive the wire pieces that stick up there so that the screws can align properly.Super easy to clean and standard newspaper fits the tray just perfectly.It is a mansion for our single cockatiel; I could see it housing 4 very comfortably.
